ABA: 2025 Antitrust Spring Meeting
April 2, 2025
Four O’Melveny partners are set to share their experience and insights at this year’s ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting in Washington, DC, which is the largest gathering of competition, consumer protection, and data privacy professionals globally, with lawyers, academics, economists, enforcers, journalists, and students from an anticipated 67 countries. The 2025 “Antitrust Week” expects to welcome more than four thousand participants and offers a valuable opportunity to draw on both domestic and international perspectives on competition to help foster strong professional relationships, provide unequaled knowledge sharing, and host substantive networking opportunities.
O’Melveny partner Jennifer Schiller will moderate a panel presented by the Federal Civil Enforcement and Trial Practice Committees discussing winning strategies, insights and practical tips for addressing significant merger challenges.
O’Melveny partner Sergei Zaslavsky will moderate a panel discussion presented by the Economics Committee outlining the basic concepts crucial to antitrust cases with a focus on damages and econometrics. The program aims to help those newer to antitrust as well as covering interesting nuances for “more seasoned practitioners.”
O’Melveny partner Anna Pletcher will be a guest speaker on a panel presented by the Corporate Counseling, Distribution and Franchising, and Intellectual Property Committees. “The panel will debate the intersection of antitrust and IP, focusing on franchise and other labor markets in this age of heightened employee mobility.
O’Melveny partner and co-chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition practice Ian Simmons will moderate a panel of experts discussing the significance of experts on case success and the new methodologies experts can use. The panel is presented by the Civil Practice and Procedure Committee and will explore how trial themes can be integrated into expert work as well as how to make “economics persuasive (and admissible) to diverse factfinders.”
