Patrick is a versatile litigator with extensive experience in a broad range of antitrust and other litigation and investigatory matters. Patrick has represented clients at every stage of litigation. He has managed investigations in response to subpoenas by government enforcers; briefed and argued dispositive and pretrial motions in federal district court and several state courts; taken and defended depositions; first- and second-chaired the direct and cross-examination of witnesses at trial; and briefed and argued cases in support of clients in the US Courts of Appeals and several state courts of appeal. A former math and science teacher, Patrick particularly excels at working with expert witnesses—from economists, to engineers, to scientists—to develop complex quantitative analyses and, just as importantly, to explain those analyses to lawyers, judges, and juries.
Patrick was a key member of the O’Melveny antitrust teams that:
- won dismissal for multiple clients in the first antitrust case involving the cryptocurrency industry, United American Corp. v. Bitmain, Inc.;
- won dismissal and settled City of Baton Rouge et al. v. Bank of America, N.A., et al. and related cases against Wells Fargo alleging collusion in the government-sponsored enterprise bond market;

In addition to his extensive antitrust experience, Patrick has been a key member of trial teams in consumer protection matters, an insurance dispute, and a bankruptcy confirmation proceeding. His experience spans a diverse spectrum of industries including digital currencies, financial services, aviation, defense contracting, healthcare, medical devices, telecommunications, real estate, insurance, and automobiles.
Patrick also maintains an active pro bono practice. He has briefed and argued a family law case before a state court of appeal; represented a client in a special education proceeding in which he successfully negotiated a favorable settlement prior to the administrative trial; and has partnered with civil rights organizations in several matters related to voting rights in Florida.
