Joshua Revesz is a member of O’Melveny’s Supreme Court & Appellate Litigation Group. He is an experienced appellate lawyer, having argued ten appellate cases and led briefing in numerous matters in the Supreme Court and federal and state courts of appeals.
At O’Melveny, Josh focuses his practice on appellate and complex litigation matters. He has substantial experience with First Amendment litigation, representing entertainment companies, nonprofit organizations, and content creators asserting their rights to express themselves. He has also been involved in appellate briefing and motions practice in trademark disputes and insurance, labor, and employment cases, and has provided advice on constitutional and statutory issues to clients anticipating litigation. Josh maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on criminal justice appellate matters.
Prior to joining O’Melveny, Josh held several positions in the US Department of Justice, most recently as Senior Counsel to the Associate Attorney General. He also served as an appellate attorney in the Justice Department’s Civil Division. He is a former law clerk to US Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and to Chief Judge Merrick B. Garland of the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.
