Greg Campbell is an English, Irish, and New York-qualified attorney based in O’Melveny’s London office. A member of the firm’s Corporate Finance and Restructuring Practices, Greg has over 25 years’ experience advising borrowers, sponsors, lenders, creditors, and investors in cross-border financings restructurings, and special-situations transactions. He also advises clients on financial services compliance and regulatory issues including anti-money laundering and sanctions-related matters.

Greg has been recognized as a leading practitioner by Chambers UK in the Restructuring/Insolvency category, which has noted that he “is rated by his clients as a ‘technical genius’ whose approach to instructions is ‘extremely responsive, and very sensitive to timing.’” Greg is also ranked by Chambers UK in the Banking & Finance category, with sources commenting that he “excels in negotiations.” Greg has also been recognized as a leading lawyer in the bank lending category by The International Financial Law Review (IFLR) and by Best Lawyers for his expertise in Private Equity Law. In addition, Greg is a frequent contributor to a variety of industry and academic publications on the topics of corporate insolvency, finance, and security. He is also actively involved in pro bono matters and is an Officer and Honorary General Counsel of The Most Venerable Order of St John of Jerusalem and St John International.

At the start of his career, Greg served as judicial assistant to the Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Kennedy (Vice President of the Queen’s Bench Division) and the Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Mummery in the English Court of Appeal. He took a B.A. in Jurisprudence with first class honors from Merton College, Oxford, and an LL.M. majoring in international and comparative insolvency from University College London.
