FCPA and Global Anti-Corruption Conference
November 3, 2025
O’Melveny partner David N. Kelley will be a guest speaker at the 42nd annual FCPA and Global Anti-Corruption Conference. The 2025 program aims to bring together more than 700 members of the global FCPA and anti-corruption community for critical discussions on the next phase of anti-corruption, ethics, compliance and enforcement. David Kelley will join a panel discussion titled, “Tariffs, Trade, and a New Frontier of Corruption Risks: Confronting Growing Compliance Pressures Stemming from a Seismic Global Trade Shift.” David Kelley, the former United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has cultivated a revered reputation for his defense of high-profile matters involving sensitive white collar litigation and investigations. His more than three decades of experience spans a diverse range of grand jury investigations, prosecutions and congressional inquiries, as well as commercial litigation and federal securities.
“The global trade landscape is undergoing a transformation driven by rising tariffs, geopolitical tensions, supply chain diversification, and shifting economic alliances. These forces are not only redrawing trade routes but also reshaping the corruption risk map for multinational companies. As companies pivot to new markets and unfamiliar intermediaries, compliance officers must recalibrate their strategies to address emerging vulnerabilities.”
Discussion topics will include:
- Examining the intersection of global tariff policies and corruption risk in emerging trade corridors
- How shifting operations to more tariff-friendly jurisdictions is exposing companies to new regional corruption patterns and risks
- Exploring new risks arising from the realignment of supply chains: new markets, new intermediaries, new exposures
- The growing risk of bribes paid—directly or by third parties—to evade or reduce tariffs
- Practical strategies to detect and mitigate bribery risks in global supply chains and customs processes
- Due diligence and monitoring approaches for new trade corridors and high-risk jurisdictions
