2025 EFLA Congress: In search of a nexus: Science, law and the landscape of uncertainty
September 18, 2025
O’Melveny partner Hannah Chanoine will be a guest speaker at the 2025 EFLA Congress. The two-day program will discuss cases related to food law challenges and how the Court of Justice of the EU approaches risk analysis. “Specific examples in the areas of food additives, fortified foods, flavorings and plant protection products,” will be considered, as well as applicable US and EU regulations.
Chanoine is co-chair of O’Melveny’s Consumer Class Actions practice and is at the forefront of O’Melveny’s Food, Beverage and Agribusiness group, helping clients navigate new regulatory and enforcement issues and hotly litigated areas of law such as co-called “forever chemicals” (PFAS), microplastics, ultra processed foods, and greenwashing claims involving food safety and packaging. The group also advises investors on opportunities in agritech, landowners and farming operations on water rights, consumer brands on labeling and product liability claims, and businesses on disposal of food waste as well as negotiating sophisticated investments, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions.
